I need legal advice in regards to my employer.....Please Help.?

First of all. I am a contract security guard and my employer who takes care of my pay forgot to pay me 8 hours for a shift. I have evidence that I worked but still no pay.

Second, I have been working with my company for a year and on their website, they say they give an anual bonus. Yet I have not seen a dime going on 1 year and 2 months.

Thrid of all. Last december '06 I was reviewed and told that I was going to receive a raise for my good work. Two pay checks later I haven't seen a raise, so I ask them about it and they tell me that I started my job at my raised pay.

Now its August 07 and I am just fed up arguing with my company. I am going to talk to a lawyer but is this enough to go after my company. And what can I receive or benefit from if I go after them?
Additional Details
When I ask them about the 8 hours they say either oh you will see it in your next pay check or I will have that for you in 3 business days. This has been on going for a month now.

first print off the material on the website,
also check and see if your employee hand book states this: If you don'thave one, you may have a case in that. I'm thinking that employee handbooks are manditory, I had a business with 5 employees and I had to make one to meet standard

once you have all that, and have read the fine print
contact the federal wage people. Look under labor in the federal pages of the phone book. Present your case to them, keep your mouth shut, and just wait.

when the federal investigator is finished with them you should see immediate relief.

Next, if you are fired, file in federal court, under the whistle blower protection act that you were terminated because you blew the whistle on their criminal activity.

Next file for unemployment (it will increase what they have to pay each month to cover that).

Even if you have a job lined up, FILE for unemployment. You don't have to collect it, just file, it will cost them more per year than your raise would,

As it has, already been stated.File with the labor board,keep a record of everything,and write down the names of who you talk to,and what was said and how long you talk to them the times and dates. And send all that information in to the labor board.That will help build a strong case, in the event that your company try to appeal,and they might. So be prepared.

Well taking them to court will most likely only get you the 8 hours. In order for you to get the annual bonus, it must be stated that they give every employee an anual bonus. Same thing with the raise, you'd have to have it in writting, stating how much of a raise you would get and when it would take effect. Contract security firms always have a bad name because of high turnover rates. And everything you mentioned are reasons for high turnovers. Many people get fed up and quit. There are several steps you can take. Consider looking in to a union and talk to the other guards that work at that firm about it. Unions will help get you a higher pay, benefits, and more rights. Talk to your employer about this, that you feel like they are taking advantage of you. You might even consider talking to a lawyer about your situation and having the lawyer go in and talk for you. Another step you can take is talk to the company you are contracted with, and the few other companies that your employer has contracts with, and let them know of this. Before you do that you may want to tell this to your employer first to scare him, though I would go straight to the other companies first. Before you try taking action, look for anothr job first. Taking any action it's possible that you're going to loose your job. Either way I would quit.

You can receive the back pay owed you. However, you will probably be terminated or reassigned in retaliation. They will make it look as if it is not related to your action so they can get away with it unfortunately. I would be looking at other job options while you are waiting for your lawyer to get what is owed you.

The only thing you can go after them for is the 8 hours that were unpaid.

Also, you can't be a contract worker and an employee for the same job. You are either one or the other.

What does your employer say when you show them proof that you worked those 8 hours?
