I need to know my rights at work concerning overtime and the law (UK)?

Can anyone tell me how the law stands when it comes to over time at the place i work only one or two people ever seem to get overtime and the rest of us only get basic as far as i can see these people do not work any harder than me but they are close friends with the managers if any one can help me it would be a big help

Entirely upto the company as to who they give or allow overtime to.
You have no "right" to overtime just as you have no "right" to be employed in the first place.

If you don't like their system then talk to your management/HR.
