Find answers to your legal question.

I once got arrested once, will it affect my becoming an RN?

I am in college to be an RN and I was wondering if my being arrested when I was 17 would affect me be able to get licensed? I live in GA and I was tried as an adult because in GA you're an adult at age 17. I was a misdemeanor crime for shoplifting. I know it says on my school website that the state has the right to refuse licensing to anyone who has been convicted of a moral or legal crime. Should I be worried?

Per my research what is taken into consideration is the age of the person and was the crime committed while in Nursing school. However, this does not mean based on the fact you were 17 y.o you may not come across a problem. Below is the link that explains the process and requirements for licensure to be an RN in Georgia.
