I read about a study that said the legal professionn is the most depressing profession but...?

... the lawyers in my town seem very relaxed and friendly. Even the ones who work in "unpleasant" fields such as family law (doing divorces, child support, etc.).

I live in a town of about 35,000 people. Are lawyers in small towns less prone to being stressed out and depressed?

I read something that said dentists were the most depressed (either that or it might have been suicidal). I suppose it depends on what kind of lawyer you are. You'd probably be more stressed out if you were a civil/criminal case lawyer than if you were a tax lawyer. Just less stress and you're not as torn in your own moral values (say if you were defending a murderer).

I've heard dentistry is the most depressing.

A lawyer's stress/depression would depend on the types of cases they deal with. It makes sense that a small-town lawyer would deal with less problems than would a lawyer who works in a city, so they'd be more relaxed in general.
