and told him lies about me. Like I've been hitting on him, when actually it's the opposite way around. However, my boss has said nothing to me about it, but people are being very werid around me. I'm not comfortable with my boss to talk with him in the first place. It's a small company and they are all drinking buddies, so I have no one I can confide in. Is there any way I can get fired? Wouldn't my boss talk to me first, and get my side of the story before firing me?

Just make sure that you stay as far away as possible from this person. If you have to talk to him, make sure there are others around who can see that you are behaving in a professional manner. You boss might be observing you to see if what he was told is true, or, he might be chosing to ignore the gossip and wait for proof. You can rise above all of this and be the better person. |
