Take a lot of reading and writing courses in high school. Read even beyond on what the school requires. Improve your vocabulary and learn to speak in front of groups. You need to have good comprehension, logic, effective writing, and speaking skills.

In high school, participate in a debate team, student council, and get yourself inducted in National Honor Society, and other activities. Maintain the best grades. Try to do honors courses. You should be able to get into a great college. In college, go into either major: criminal justice, pre-law, political science, or related field. Study, study, study. Do well. Get yourself into law school from there. Then there's the bar exam.

First law is about debating ideas and convivning others of your point of view. Try joining a local debate club in your school.

Second this profesion requires interpretation of particular subjects especially ones written, so i strongly belive if your school does not have a program that helps in this (mine certainly did) take courses in your local comunity college.

(These first 2 are things to do in your school here are others that dont involve high school)

~ If you have itunes there is a podcast that can give you the profesionals opinion about litigation, in the search icon type "aba litigation"

~ Do searches on the net based on the specific type of lawyer you will like to be (corporate, criinal, enviromental, construction, ect.) and see what you can find.

One more thing, use your age and inocense to write lawyers in your district or local politicians to see if they will give more info on your queries.

good luck

during high school, try and get straight A's and do lots of extra curricular activities to get into a great pre-Law college.

In college, do internships at law firms and get straight A's

I am sorry to be so negative, but I really have to warn you: Jobs in the field of Law are REALLY drying up FAST!!! This is a bad time to become an attorney. reasons: bad economy, thanks to the Web everyone thinks they can be their own attorney, law office environments are VERY political!!!

Go into the field of healthcare <LOTS of jobs there!!!

Well, you should get work experience in law.
Take and pass your law degrees, idealistically very well to stand a chance of becoming a lawyer.

Be patient, and hopefully a law firm will come for you and your career as a lawyer should start.

Bearing in mind, this takes along time to finish your law degrees and start your first law case (im guessing in criminal law) so be patient and be confident.
