I want to know my employee rights?

if i fire an employee for bad work performance do i have to pay for unemployment.

Not in Michigan........deny the unemployment and give a solid written documented reason........I hope you have the issue clearly documented......you do don't you?..............

They are most likely eligible to collect unemployment unless they are fired for willful misconduct. Being incompetent doesn't keep them from unemployment.

The answer is it depends on where the employee works. Each state has their own employment laws. The best thing you can do is make sure that you have documented the issues, and be sure that you are applying whatever measures equally to all employees.

If you want to do research online, go to www.usa.gov and search for "unemployment law" and the state you are in.
