unlikely an employer in that industry would consider it. even if you have paid your dues the employers will see that on your background search and not likely want to risk it.

consider jobs that do not involve children or handling cash

Most likely, yes. However some daycares may perform different background checks. Unfortunately criminal record checks are the most common checks that are performed, so it's more likely that they'll find it. Stay positive though, it falls off your record after 7 years :)

I would not hire you because of a felony. You shouldn't be working around kids with a criminal past. If I found out my kids were under care of a felon I would sue the daycare.
