I was fired from a position 2 yrs ago, help!!?

I was fired from a position over 2-3 years ago as a Medical Assistant. When I was fired I was given the reason that it was because of excessive tardies and a bad attitude, which really neither of them being true especially the bad attitude part. The problem is that, I know this sounds crazy and sounds like I'm manipulating the situation, but, the girl whom was office manager had mental problems and was very temperamental, me and this girl had some dealings going on with a vehicle she had sold me. This altered her opinions about me, which is okay whatever, but at the same time I also worked with a crazy Nurse Practitioner and Medical Billing lady. The nurse practitioner would make snark comments saying I'm either"slow"( mentally) and she would make underlying slightly racist comments. Let me give you an example, me and this lady never really got along, but, one day she said while I was cleaning the bathroom ( oh, yeah this was a very, very, very dirty DOCTOR"S office, because they didn't want to hire a special cleaning crew) she said" oh, your doing such a good job cleaning the bathrooms, maybe if it does not work out for you here you can come clean my bathrooms." So the combined intelligence of both of these lovely people is what lead to the reason I was fired, which at the time I thought was messed up because I knew that they did not like me, but of course everyone else in the office including the dr loved me and especially my personality. The patients loved me, because I was not short and nasty with them like the other girls were. Patients would literally come into the office and specifically ask for me because no one else had the patience to talk to certain patients. ! yr later on my way to a new job I ran into an old co- worker from that office and she told me that they brought in a new office manager while the old one was sitting in the managers office and told her she was not the office manager anymore( cold, right?) and then they brought in staff that stood up to the nurse practitioner, made her breakdown crying and she ran out of the office. Now with all this being said, I just got a call from a perspective employer that will not hire me because of this bad reference. Given this information, what can I do when i was fired because somebody did not like me on a personal and not professional level? Can I contact the new office manager and ask for her to sweeten it up a little, since it really was a really one sided situation.

You would have to prove you were unduly dismissed in order to get that changed. The burden of proof is on you. IF they can proove that you were tardy via time cards or log-ons then they have you. But if they can't prove that and as long as they don't have any "customer complaints" about you on file (not employee complaints - customer complaints) - (and an attorney or legal aide should be able to help you determine that), then you can get a clean slate. Otherwise it's something that will follow you around. I hope you can get it all straightened out. Good luck

If you were only there for a short time, I wouldnt even put it on your applications. If you were, there isnt much you can do about it now.
