Find answers to your legal question.

I was given a speeding ticket by an officer at the roadside & he failed to enter his own details, is it legal?

The officer failed to complete the ticket by not entering any of his own details i.e. name rank, station or date, is this still legal even though I did sign it and have since shown my licence at my local Police Station. The desk clark seemed to think that it was incorrect?

Yeah it does not sound right. But he could have filled out that information after the fact. Contact the court and find out when your court date is and dispute it in court.

He must be lazy, that can not be right. You may still be in for a ticket but he may get in trouble.

Depending on your state law and the court (judge), this may be a way out of the ticket. One of the things that attorneys look for in representing a person who go a traffic ticket is an error on the ticket itself.

In Illinois and depending on who your judge is, a major procedural error like this can get the entire case dismissed. Which would mean that the ticket would not be counted against your driving record. Make sure you tell your attorney about this prior to going into court.
