what do you think about that?
i think you have left out a lot of details as to why you were fired.
being a health care worker in the south saying that you need a union is not why you were fired.

even in right-to-work states where not joining a union is still a right unions are protected and activity related to unionization is protected.
there are actually more rights for union and non-union members in the right-to-work states(many of which are in the south) then there are in non-right-to-work states.

Shane
In full agreement with poster Michr and others. Seems there may be more to your story. NOW in the event you were truly fired ONLY on those grounds and you actually attempted to secure a union for your organization (example: Start a petition) then you should seek the advice of an employment lawyer since such an action against a protected activity is viewed as a form of "retaliation." NOW if there is more to the story as many believe and it was not just due to this statement I am afraid you have zero course of legal action.

I'm sure there is more of why you were let go then you are letting on! Besides, no one owe's you a job!

where in the south? If you are in Ga, its a hire and fire at will state, they can fire you without a reason, and you can quit without one. Sorry hun

Don't try to make the south look bad because you were fired. I'm sure there is a lot more to this story then you are telling. The South does have unions in many manufacturing firms and of course let's not forget about the electricians, welders and ship pipers and..etc., We don't fire people just because the word union is said, get real and get a job.

**It really supprised me that many people who tried to answer this question said "Get an Attorney". First of all you have to prove your case.

i agree every employment needs a union and workers do have rights. if they sack you for saying that it is classed as discrimination. Contact your lawyer, local and national newspapers, you member of government to help you out. It so no fair what they done to you and you deserve compensation.

Nick
Yup north is better!
