boss gave me 4000 pounds and told me thats all he could afford before he closed the business,found out ex employee with less years than me got 6500 pounds from government,is it too late for me to make a claim

If you have worked for 14 years then you should get a minimum of 14 weeks pay as a redundancy payment - you'll have to calculate this yourself to check whether what you got is right.
Why have you waited 18 months to do something about this?!
You'll probably find you havegone beyond the time limit for an industrial tribunal. You'll have to check what the time limit is at your local small claims court to see if you can put in a claim there if you have been short-changed. |

agreements reached on redundancy are based on age lengh of service & the amount you earn,from eighten one years service equals one weeks pay ,you have fourteen so the lease you can expect is fourteen weeks pay, The most you can expect is twentynine weeeks pay,work it out for you self age times sevice, times pay.
