That's illegal. They aren't aloud to ask that or even do it. I would'nt take that job |

Depending on the jurisdiction it may or may not be 'legal' but either way it's sneaky. How they treat other people in front of you is how they will treat you in front of other people, and that move is unsavory.
There's too much information on that stub that they don't need unless they're paying you. I'd walk away. |

Probably just verifying your last employment and you can assume they are going to contact that employer to check on your work ethics, length of employment and attendance. |

They are trying to verify that what you told them about where you worked and how much you made is true.
It's not illegal for them to ask. You don't have to show it to them, but probably won't get the job if you refuse. |
