well after passing the bar you either open your own office or hook up with a firm that handles criminals cases!!

I'm assuming you mean criminal defense (as you could also mean civil defense). Your best bet to get experience is probably to work as a Public Defender. It's brutal, not very well paid, but you'll get instant experience: in most firms, you won't see a court room for your first few years.
