I resigned from a P/T job 2wks ago, the right way w/ 2/12 being my last day. they have me off today but on the schedule for tomorrow and Saturday, I mention this to them 3x including yesterday, the Ast. Manager was to call me to let me know if I should come in to work today and make this my last day or just make yesterday my last day. Well I have not heard from her and I want to know if I don't work those 2 days is it abandonment? or if I do work those days and they not put me on schedule for next week could I apply for unemployment? I live in Fla, what should I do?

I did do a resignation letter with my last day of work per the 2wks.

I think the issues will be
1. Will you get paid?
2. Will you get a bad reference?
If you have worked all the days THIS Week that you are supposed to work then you should be OK.
They are thick to do this. But they are bigger than you.
Have you a copy of your resignation letter (just a quick written one with copy at the top and the correct date on it? Does it give a date? What date does it say that you want to leave?
I am in UK so do not know about applying for unemployment in Fla. |

I'm not sure about FL law, but typically if you resign from a position you do not qualify for benefits. To answer your question, your last day is 2/12, if that was the date you gave. You are not responsible for the schedule after that as you are no longer an employee. If you return to work, be sure to resign again. |
