The job is only temporary. The employer is only interested in hiring me for 7 weeks. i will be an independent contractor and will get a 1099 for taxes.

How about if the job is on a 1099? how will UE know about it?? Just wondering...

not necessarily. Just include the job and the number of hours you work on the claim form. then include the amount of your paychecks. if you work part time, you can still claim unemployment. |

Depending on how much you make each week on the temp job, your unemployment benefits might be reduced, or eliminated, for those weeks. When the job is done though, they'll be reinstated if you haven't found something else. |

unemployment benefits are for people who are ready and willing to work not for people you have jobs and want their cake and eat it too.
