can I claim Job Seeker's Allowance? By vol. redundancy I don't mean they have called and offered it I mean I would resign.

I have been v ill with a long-term illness and it doesn't look like I'll be ok any time soon. But if in the future the drs say I'm ok to work again and stop giving me sicknotes, I need to know I can sign on and get money to live on while finding a job.

This is for the UK, specifically England, btw.

Resigning is completely different from voluntary redundancy, you will not be offered JSA if you resign but you may be eligible for DLA.

Resign doesn't give you right to redundancy? it is 2 different things, you wouldn't get JSA for 13 weeks if you resign, you may get a reduced rate but the full rate at Â£60.50 isn't enough and there isn't any jobs out there, there is 100 people going after 1 job and as you have been off on the sick for a long time it wouldn't help you get a job, my friend who is 51 was told by the job centre at his age he will never find a job.
