If a doctor backdates a sicknote does your employer have to pay you from the day he backdates it?
Find answers to your legal question.

If a doctor backdates a sicknote does your employer have to pay you from the day he backdates it?

My doctor signed me off sick on the 1st of Jan and he told me it would run up until the 24th of Jan , when i am due to take maternity leave.
It turns out there was a mistake on my Doctors part and the note only took me up until the 11th of Jan.
I had a letter off my Boss today stating this so i went back to my doctor who wrote me another sick note that he backdated from the 11th to the 24th Jan.
Question is does my boss still have to pay me from the 11th to the 24th in sick pay or are they well within their rights not to as its a late note.
Also when i handed in the first sick note , i handed it in on the 15th of Dec and that note was backdated to the 1st of Dec and they paid me , so surely they have to pay me this time?
Can they pick and choose if they want to pay me or not?
I know a lot of you will prob tell me to contact my HR department but we are not allowed to and the number will not be given out , my company is run by a bunch of cowboys.
Also i can not ask my boss as the reason i am off sick is due to stress to her bullying me. I have tried to find info online about this and cant seem to find anything.
Any ideas or advice would be much helpful

They'll probably should honor the sick notes, but if you were on sick before maternity leave, they can evoke your maternity leave early instead - they might do this.
