the business does not have to honor a mis-print
they have done nothing illegal unless:
if they purposely print a price or item for sale that they know is incorrect "with the intent" of drawing in business that will purchase a different item at a higher price.
this practice is known as
"bait and switch" and it is illegal. |

Yes & No, If you can prove it WAS NOT a misprint and the company was intentionally pulling a bait and switch they have broken the law. |

Well they should back up their price, however they do not have to. That is usually done for good costomer relations if they choose to honor it. But it is there choice and it can be reported to the better business burea. And if it happens too often they will take care of them. |

Even if you could claim "false advertising", and for that you would need at least one different ad in each hand, you would not be able to profit from it. The company would assign the blame to an individual and hold this to be an unauthorized ad.
Also, this scenario is missing two of the five requirements for a valid contract. It's true, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Sorry. |

Just because it's in print doesn't make it true-this site is a prime example. Also most adverts have a disclaimer somewhere in the copy. |

There is a thing called the Truth In Advertising law.
Check it out. If the dealer printed a 'correction' and distributed it, collecting all remaining copies of the erroneous flyer he's probably 'off the hook'. |

This is America. Hire a lawyer and sue them:
"It seemed a little ridiculous a few years back when McDonald's was slapped with a lawsuit because it served coffee that was too hot. But this one might be a new low--a lawyer is suing Starbucks for $114 million because the Seattle-based coffee chain wouldn't take his client's coupon." -- September 11, 2006 |
