If a person is arrested but not convicted, will the arrest show up on criminal background check for a employer?

Fortunately most companies conduct this post job offer. You will have interviewed, built some rapport with the employer and they will then have to deny a job to you. Many states have laws that only allows employers to consider felony and misdemeanor convictions to the extent they relate to the applicant's suitability for a specific position. They cannot look at any convictions past 7 years. Some background checks miss convictions all together. It is unlikely they will hold an arrest without a conviction against you, particularly a misdemeanor. It is unlikely that the background check they are paying for will even show arrests without convictions. That said, to lie on an application about having not plead no contest, guilty and been convicted with adjudication withheld on an application, is a choice you will have to make for yourself. They can come back and fire you if found to be untruthful. Don't worry too much about this. You will hear some crazy stories, some may be true, but I question the credibility of most of them and the real reason a person is terminated.

Yes, if they do a criminal background check. I worked for a company and they were having problem with theft. All future employee had to take a lie detector test. This guy refused to take the test, they hired him but he got fired two months later.
He panicked and this sent up a red flag so they did a criminal background check. When he was a teenager he stole a radio from a store. He father paid for the radio, and that was it he thought. They picked this up from thirty years ago.
These days with all of the modem technology very little things are over look.

The one with the Pennsylvania State police will show convictions, charges pending, or will state " No record."

Therefore, if you are not convicted, you will have, "No record."
