If i get a note from the doctor that states i can only work 20hrs per week and my work cant accommodate it ..do i get unemployent or what?

i HAVE DEPRESSION and anxiety really bad and every time i go to work i cant stop thinking about being home...

most likely NO but not because of the reason provided by 'Toots'
"no fault of your own" does not mean you can't quit it means that the reason the job was lost was not your fault, that you did everything "reasonable" to prevent quiting/separation/lay-off.....
the reason the job was lost is just one factor and one of the many other factors is; are you "able" to work and actively seeking full-time employment.
being medically unable to work is generally NOT cause to qualify for unemployment.
some states have short term disability much like Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for long term. apply for any state sponsored disability programs and for SSDI. focus on getting healthy enough to work and do so as quickly as possible..... |

No, probably not. You can draw unemployment only if you loose your job due to no fault of your own (meaning you were fired or laid-off..you cannot quit a job and collect unemployment)...
Most workplaces have to accommodate truly handicapped employees by making reasonable access to a working environment. You did not say what keeps you from being able to work more than 20 hours...
If you have had a devastating injury that precludes you from working full time, then maybe you should investigate Social Security disability.
However, even that can be very, very difficult to get and you must have worked a set number of years to even begin to qualify.
Not casting aspersions here, but if you are just looking for a way to collect unemployment because you don't "want" to work, lying will only get you in trouble in the long run.
You may want to post "why" you are in the position you are in, and what your Doctor's orders are regarding activity...so we can help you better. |

If you can find a doctor willing to state, on paper that you are ONLY allowed to work for 20 hours a week, then good luck to you. Otherwise, they will more than likely state that your hours must be negiotable to accomodate your medical needs. |
