If i witnessed or experienced bullying in my work force who would i need to contact?

to do it correctly and to make sure the interests of both parties, as well as your own, are served by the process, you have to follow the managerial chain of command starting with you immediate superior. if he fails to escalate your complaint, or does not resolve it to your satisfaction, then go to his boss and finally human resources/corporate security for final disposition.....

however, be aware that these are very serious charges in today's litigous climate and that allegations like these, depending on the severity of the harassment, can and sometimes do lead to criminal charges ranging from misdemeanor assault to felony civil rights/unlawful harassment charges and/or jail time.

document each occurence you witness, in writing, with times, places, dates, descriptions of the incident, and any witnesses that were present.

without proper documentation and facts to support you claim, it is and will be considered as nothing more than hearsay and not given much credence.

by providing specifics, and especially witness statements, names, or contact information, then there isn't much they can do to deny the person reporting the incident a full and thorough investigation.

i have terminated a few people for this during my time in management, but only when the person reporting it was able to give me enough information to build a case against the bully.....them coming to me and just 'reporting' it isn't enough for me to follow up on other than some increased visual survielance on the reported offender....and if someone is lurking about watching them, they usually know it and will refrain from that type of conduct until the heat is off.....

you need to tell your supervisor or manager as i am going through the same thing and no one stood up for me as a result i am out with stress due to the situation

If it is your work force you wouldn't have to contact anyone,you would just deal with the problem yourself.
Otherwise, I would imagine,and I'm not 100%sure in the U.K.,you would report it to your Line Manager.If that didn't result in any action,I would report it to,who I would call the Personnel Manager,although I know they are referred as something else in the U.K.
