Does the IRS take out the legal fines before they will take out the child support owed to me? Which presides over the other?

Yes. The legal fines are taken out first !!

That should be asked of the powers that be over child support. My guess would be child support would be first. It always takes precedence over other wage garnishments. I would check out the IRS website for info.

The IRS fees and fines would be the first lein on a paycheck, then child support.
