If you have a bad dmv record can that disqualify you from getting a job?

Depends on what your dmv record has on it. If your driving record is bad due to the use of alcohol or drugs then potential employers will weigh this against you on the basis that you have an addiction problem and might be a cause of concern to their company.
If the bad blemishes on your dmv record is from aggressive style driving or excessive speeding then potential employers might weigh this as you being a potential volatile person and might be a risk to the safety of other employers or a liability to the company.
But must note that if the job does not include driving all obstacles can be overcome by a confident and honest interview, remember your selling yourself as an asset to their company so be confident if you don't get that first job be persistent and apply for others.
As long as your criminal record is clean then you really have not much to worry about as a DMV record check is only part of the overall background check. So a clean criminal background and if your applying for upper level jobs a great credit history will definitely outweigh a bad dmv record. |

Well I defintly would not apply to any positions where you needed to drive if you have a suspended license, or not current or valid one.
Many jobs require employees to drive company vehicles these days and if that is the case than a drivers record could be a concern.
If your job does not involve driving than no! |

depends on what type of job you are seeking. If there is a company vehicle involved, yes it could disqualify you. |

yes on several points.
1. if you are needing to drive their vehicle(s) or-
2. if you need to drive ...well a question from them might be "how do you intend on getting to and from work".
3. let's hope it was't a dui...they can and will disqualify you...
so good-luck |

Yes. If you allow your potential employer to look at your DMZ record then they can decide to not hire you based on that information.
No place in America is required to hire you no matter what. Having a bad pair of shoes or blue eyes or a mole on your nose, can disqualify you. I don't understand the question. Employers make their hiring decision based on all kinds to things and there's nothing you can really do about it....it's their business.
I would hope a bad DMV would disqualify you from a driving job, but if they use to to disqualify from a desk job, they can do that too. |

If the job entails driving either your or their vehicle in conduct of business...absolutely. reason: lawsuits and insurance. |

Well if you are applying for a position in which making deliveries or parking cars is the job then yes....example FedEx or valet service. Otherwise, it shouldn't make or break your application/interview, but you can tell alot about people from their driving record (unless they have a great lawyer). |
