Maybe you just work faster - I hate having no work to do and will always find something........if you are getting your job done then you can't get sacked you'll just be given more work than the others if your boss finds out :-) |

No. But your manager may pull you up and ask you why you have not helped out or may give you the extra work. |

The main thing I want to know is why you do not want to help out your fellow colleagues? You help them and then when you are snowed under you may get some help in return!!
I was in a job where I finished most of my daily tasks by 3pm but then used the last 2 to help out the others....as it turned out I was then offered a managerial position due to my diligance and ability to work with staff....... but then again if you want to sit in the same job..... |

If your position is "work at will", you can be let go for any reason, or no reason at all, and you can leave your position for the same. Typical variations to this situation are if you are under contract or part of a union and have some kind of contractual job protection. |
