If you leave your workplace to do a work related errand is your boss still responsible for your safety?

godre
Absolutely! As long as you are still on the clock, if anything were to happen to you while you were running the errand then worker's comp has to take care of it.

Yes. A company is responsible for an employee even outside of the workplace as long as the activity of the employee was within the "scope of employment". So, if you were making a delivery for the company and driving to another location, you are considered "on the clock". But, if someone left to go to the dentist or the doctor, the compnay would most likely not be liable.

Absolutely.

shardoggie
yes you are still on the clock and doing what your boss told you to do.

So long as the errand is work related, then yes your boss is still responsible for your safety. That also includes any work related errand you may have to do outside your normal working hours. This is the law in Australia. I hope this answer was useful

you mean a driving accident? then totally! they made you go so they pay unless it's your fault. otherwise no. no one can safeguard you against the acts of others. get a good lawer. they could bend it you're way.
