if you lied about your age to get a job, and you got it. when the employer asks for your social security number so you can get paid, will they see that you lied about your age through your social security number?

No - not unless they run a background check on you. The social security number will show where it was issued and when but it does not provide birth date data. Now that many people get their Social Security card when they are born the card can give some indication of birth date but not everyone gets their card at birth. |

I'm in Canada and employers are not allowed to ask your age...it's considered an opening to possible discrimination |

To complete an I-9, you generally need to provide a document that includes your birth date. That is when the question can arise. Also, if you lied about your age, you may raise questions about your credibility. Best to come clean early. |

No, because the employer just submits the info to the IRS to show they have a legal employee on their staff. There is not much communication between the staff and anyone affiliated with your social security number. |
