If your aunt is your manager is that a legal conflict of interest?
Find answers to your legal question.

If your aunt is your manager is that a legal conflict of interest?

I work for a Wal-mart and there is an associte there that is calling out alot and leaving early many times when he comes to work. One of that person's manager is his aunt. He has never been writen up for his attendance in fact he got a promotion recently. Another person that works there also had attendance issues and they fired him. When asked the main manager says aunts don't count legally as a conflict or integerty issue. Something seems fishy. Anyone know about this sort of thing?

It isn't illegal, but in many companies it would be a violation of company policy for someone to report to a relative. Let it be - it'll catch up with them eventually.
