Hey in the UK I know it is illegal for under 18s to work for 4 hours without a break well today I worked from 8am - 6pm and got a 10 minute break this ain't legal right? I am under 18 and I don't want to tell the manager incase they sack me any help?

According to ACAS, its 20 minutes if you work longer than 6 hours. Talk to your manager, regardless of your age, they cant do this. |

First, research local laws. Make sure you know what they did is illegal.
Go to the manager, be really, really polite, state what the problem is, and say you're confident they can resolve your scheduling "because, as you probably know, X and Y law state that I am only to work X long." This shows you know your rights, but you haven't made any threats or been rude. When you leave, write down who you spoke to and what was said. |
