Im a convicted murderer i got out last week can i get a job?

Im a convicted killer,I am disappointed in myself for what i did that night and im glad was caught but i do not regret it. I got out of prison last week after 16 years behind bars, i am 40 and looking for a job will i be able to get one the prison service are not even helping me out just 300 quid and that's it,and i used it in a bruffle. Any suggestions were I can apply for a job and could i go to a solicitor to change my name im asking this because i do not want to ask my probation officer this.

Probation are scard of me and i killed 2 people it was in the papers a police offcer and a man do not want to go into detail i got my drink spiked.

Apparently,you have a probation officer,use them.Thats what they get paid to do-manage risk/help you find employment-be it voluntary or courses designed to assist you into work.They wont be scared of you-your a 16yr old kid trying to "funny" or "ironic"-you failed.

sorry mate but its your bed you lay in it maybe manual / casual is the best you can get like building sites or hotel kitchens but if you change your name and dont inform probation guess where you'll end up back in after they catch up with you?

In the current economy mate, it's gonna be pretty hard, not just because you've come out of prison because it's hard for all of us at the moment with all this shitty toxic debt and what not...

Good luck though, for the time being there's always Job Seekers allowance, i aint knocking it either since I'm on it!

you can change your name but your social security number will still the same, so if someone does a back ground check on you, things will come up..

what do you mean probation is scared of you.. then that's a bad probation officer..

no you can not join the armed forces.. I think you need to be younger.. and some things they can not worry about, but murder is NOT one of them..

try fast food or construction.. or go into business for yourself..

no you cant go into the forces you are too old . If you apply for a job which requires a crb check it will show up on there even if you had your name changed. all you can hope is someone gives you a chance. why not try looking for labouring jobs or gerdening , somewhere you will not have to reveal too much about yourself, thats where your going to fall down. if people have to know.

Truth be told, im not exactly sure WHERE you can get one but i know for a fact that your options are incredibly limited. They wont allow you to work in a school, a bank, any place concerning weapons, and a lot more because they run background checks for most job applcations.
