Hardship provision
If you don't qualify for Jobseeker's Allowance under the normal rules, you may still get reduced payments under hardship provision.
You'll have to prove that someone in your family will suffer if you don't get Jobseeker's Allowance. It may be a few weeks before payments begin, unless you're in a vulnerable group.

If your'e fired you get benefits don't think you get them if you quit as you made yourself intentionally unemployed. Try looking on the net for dwp (department of work and pensions) website. |

Basically if yuou leave your job for no good reason (i.e. unless you can claim constructive doismissal), you may end up without anything for the first 28 weeks, after which JSA may be granted... you may qualify for a redu ced payment of hardship allowance if you meet certain criteria. |

You can claim jsa once it's been 6weeks since you left. Not sure for certain about any other entitlements. Housing benefit would probably be awarded but I don't know how long you have to wait, probably 6 weeks too- this is if you made yourself unemployed. Same with council tax benefit. Phone citizens advice when you get a chance or look up the job centre website should have some facts. |

nothing for the first 13 weeks i thnk as you have quit and it was up to you to lose your job, if you were sacked or made redundant you would be allowed jsa or income support and i think it is about £56 pound a week i think it may not even be that much, go to the job centre they have an advice bureau there and they can answer all your questions correctly. |
