I've been working for this company since early February, and I have only been paid on time once. The agreement is that I am to be paid on the first and fifteenth of every month. I had to wait nearly two weeks after my paydate for my boss to cut my check once, only to find out that he did not have the money in the bank to cover the check, and every other check that I have received has been post-dated. I've only actually received one paycheck on time that was able to be cashed that same day. I've always heard that it is illegal for an employer to post-date a payroll check (in the state of Kansas anyway). Is that true?

I 'THINK' that is a GENERAL Rule in every State, to NOT Post-date a Payroll check!
While you thinking about it, you MAY want to seek Employment ELSEWHERE; that shows he's having a 'Money flow' problem.
However, knowing if ALL the employees are having the 'same' problem and to know if it's a Big company, Small co., if you are 'freelance/independant (1099) or they're just starting out would help! |
