Interest in Becoming a Lawyer?

I am currently a high school junior and have been getting pushed, of course, to start thinking about career choices for the future. I am a good English student, very involved with my student government, and enjoy public speaking, therefore law has always been a consideration for me. Originally I had my heart set on being in the medical field, however that has changed.

Cutting to the chase here, I am interested in law and would like to still work with people and have a slightly flexible schedule if I intend to raise a family. I am not interested in criminal justice or any of those branches. Would something like corporate law be a good choice for me? I guess what I am asking for is advice about good fields to go into, what I need to do to prepare, etc.

Sorry for the lengthy description and thank you for your advice as well!

Two major reasons why you should not pursue the law and pursue medicine instead:

1. the cost of law school.

2. the lack of jobs available in the law after graduation.
