i am 14 years old and would like to be a lawyer, the reason i am asking so early is because my careers teacher said it would be a good time to start thinking about it, my reading skills are excellent i mean really good but my grades could be better, what grades do u need to be a lawyer and does having good reading skills help

Of course it is hard. Rarely is anything worthwhile easy. That's why if your teacher thinks you'd be good at it, shes starting you thinking now.
It is tons and tons of reading and memorizing. The teaching methods are different, and exams are (almost) everything.

No, it is not hard to become a lawyer there is a huge range in the qualifications from law school to law school. Almost anyone can get accepted to some law school, some place, that wants the tuition dollars. There are a lot of low ranking law schools, some do not even require the LSAT, law entrance exam, and do not look for good grades. Look up the Massachusetts School of Law as an example, there are many more and new law schools that are being opened all the time. If you are willing to pay $$$ you can go to law school. Some people, a minority, take the Bar Exam 5 times, but eventually I would imagine they get to be an attorney. You would pretty much have to have a lobotomy not to be able to be an attorney. |

Law school is tough, but you can do it!
I am in law school now, and there is so much to read and know and it can be overwhelming at times and seem so difficult but we all get through it. Reading skills do help, but comprehension and reasoning matter more.
If you have a good work ethic and study hard, then you can get through law school and be a lawyer. |

Not especially hard, but it involves a good amount of memory work.
Also, a lot of the people you will deal with, including other lawyers, will be quite unpleasant. |

Reading is essential .
You have 4 years of college ,
Then you apply to law school .
After that , you can apply to take the BAR exam .
Strangely , a lot of people who went to college for years ,
Fail the BAR !
Maybe they weren't reading .

Get a good GPA (3.8+) in high school; it will lead to you go a good college / university. Get a good GPA (3.8+) in college / university, it will lead to you to good law school. Get a good GPA in law school (3.8+), it may lead you to a good job (but not guaranteed).
Law school is pricey; a state school is anywhere from $15-20,000 / year. A private school is anywhere from $30-60,000 / year (and law school is 3 years).
