Is a DUI considered a substance-abuse related incident?

If a company policy says they will not hire anyone with a felony, or a misdemeanor that is violent crime or substance abuse related, would that prohibit someone with a misdemeanor DUI from getting hired?

Yep, the "influence" part of DUI will get you every time.

Yes it would it is substance abuse related!! and if it is the driver's second, third, or even fourth DUI offense it would become a felony in stead of a misdemeanor. So I would say more then likely they would NOT get hired...
