If you went to the top law schools and if you are damn good.It is very tough and certainly not a bed of roses.Long hours,cranky nasty bosses and unrelenting pressure. |

Indeed. There are probably too many attorneys in the US but if you make a name for yourself you could become very wealthy in a few years. Depending on where you practice, your specialty and whether you are a corporate lawyer versus a criminal lawyer, you could earn anywhere between $35,000 up to millions of dollars. |

Like everything in life it depends. Attorneys have several career options. At the least, you would be considered middle class - I'm sure you hear stories about public defendants- those guys all graduated and passed the bar, but I don't think anyone would consider those positions to pay 'affluent incomes'. I have a friend who's a patent attorney, just started out, he makes 6 figures- and he got his undergrad degree in engineering (makes sense for his area of expertise in patent law). |
