Just started a new job, got paid last week and never got a payslip? Apparently they do not give them.........

Your employer is required by law to tell you what deductions have been made from your salary. That includes income tax and National Insurance. It doesn't necessarily have to be on a payslip, but he should have some way of informing you how your net pay is made up. If he doesn't, it's fairly safe to assume he's fiddling the tax. Find yourself a new job before he gets busted by the friendly HMRC enforcement team. |

No, the employer is required to tell you exactly how much u've earnt and how much has been deducted for tax/ other things aswell, but it dosen't have to be on a payslip!! |

In the US they must give you a payslip showing gross pay, hours worked, net pay, and itemizing all of the deductions. I don't know what the requirement is in Nigeria. Where are you? This is a worldwide board. |

You must get a payslip and yu can take your employer to a tribunal for not providng one. Suggest you remind them of this before you take action. |

I spent this afternoon at the employment tribunal because of that - we got them occasionally showing how much tax and ni we were having deducted but seemingly they were not reaching the tax office? when I was made redundant in january after 4 years working for the company the job centre had no record of my tax and ni so i claimed redundancy through the employment tribunal, the previous employed never appeared and judge told me i was entitled to redundancy but would let me know his decision within 10 days. Is you're work declaring the workers. Ask them for the employers PAYE reference number so you can claim tax credits and see what they say. |

I was working at Mcdonalds for a week and a half and they sacked me for not smiling enough.
