There has been a court order for a custody evaluation. I paid the doctor doing the evaluation and did everything that was necessary to finish the evaluation on my end. Once my ex had his turn for his evaluation , his attorney canceled the visit and the judge on the case soon after dismissed the case relieving the ex of having to pay the doctor and winning hands down.
Why was there an evaluation ordered by the judge if she knew that she was on his side from the start?

I agree with BR and also the comment that judges basically do whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they are immune. Something is very odd here and it wouldn't be the first time that I another judge is in cahoots with an attorney. First I would speak to another attorney and secondly I would insist that my case be heard again with another judge. I also wouldn't dismiss possibly filing a complaint against this judge. Each state has an independent body (in many states that entity is the Supreme Court) with jurisdiction to hear the evidence against a judge and to render a final decision regarding the formal charges of judicial misconduct. Type in your search engine file complaint against judge and your State (i.e., AZ). It will give you the link where you can file. |

As a former jurist, who has handled many custody disputes, I can tell you what you just described sounds odd.
That me one of two things to me, either you have omitted important facts (such as a discovery that you were arrrested for child abuse or engaged in some other disqualifying conduct) or that there are factors of which you are not aware (which may be suspicious or not.)
Satisfy your curiosity by having another lawyer look into the case for you. |
