Some workplaces do have an employee code of conduct that spells out appropriate behavior and so on -- if body odor has been a problem, the employer has a right to require that the problem be addressed. |

Jobs are at a premium..if the HR says wear deodorant then wear it....if the boss says position yourself under my desk...get a lawyer...choose your fights |

I don't know if it is legal, but it's a good policy to have. I've been around people with BO on the job and it is the worst thing when you are forced to work in close proximity to them on a daily basis. |

Good personal hygiene is imperative if you want to keep your job. No one wants to work with stinky people, and customers are too precious to risk losing. Legal? probably. |

yes it is legal. It does not involve a protected class and further I am willing to guess it's not a government employer so therefore there is no state action.
Is it really that big of a deal? Or do you prefer to smell badly? |
