Recording a conversation is not illegal and often it is admissible in court.
What you do with the recording however might be illegal. For example if you use it to blackmail someone, you can be criminally prosecuted. |

Depends on your state. All state laws differ. In NY (where I am) the answer is Yes. Legal to record someone without there knowledge. How my sister nailed her former employer. She recorded the conversation in there last face to face meeting and it was used against him in preceding legal proceedings. As I stated it all depends on your state and without knowing no one here can say if it is legal or illegal. |

It is absolutely legal, unfortunately. Up until a few years ago (like a decade or so), it was legal for someone to record your image without you knowing! |

only one party needs to be aware if it is submitted as evidence in a court then you might have an arguement to throw that out. but no law is broken yet. and why do you live in a park? |

If it's stricly for personal use, it's legal. If this person's going to share your answers with other people, they should have had you sign a release form. |

Well, I'm not sure if it's illegal unless they try to use against you in a court case. They have to record themselves telling you that you're being recorded and they also have to record you giving them permission to record you. Kinda confusing, sorry lol |
