Snowdays, notes from Mommy, and "but I was sick" are no longer accepted excuses for not meeting your responsibilities.
Your employer can REQUIRE you to work any day they feel like it (including all federal holidays). YOU have to decide if like your job enough to accept that. |

Snow days apply to schools not the workforce. If you have a job you get there on time no matter what the weather conditions. If it has been snowing a lot you make a point of getting up and leaving the house earlier to allow yourself extra time to get to work. |

Entirely legal, I'm afraid. Now, if you're really stuck-- as in, you can't physically get the car out of the driveway, I really think your boss OUGHT to cut you some slack, just as a matter of human decency... but it'll probably count against your vacation time or sick time. |
