Sure its legal. You may need that information in case you want to move up to a better position. If you did not know what the responsibilities of each position were How would you know if you could handle or even want the job. |

Job descriptions are legal to release to anyone inside or outside of a company. Many companies post open jobs or job descriptions as part of internal recruitment/referral campaigns, for example. What companies should be cautious about is publicizing salary grades which are tied to each position, and/or posting specific info about an individual's pay rate. While that is not technially illegal in most areas, it certainly can cause dissatisfaction among the work force. |
