The employer did not advise the employees that the camera is there and we do not know if it records audio either.

It is the employer's property, premises and equipment. If they install a camera they are not obligated to tell employees about it. I believe it would be illegal if they recorded audio, but video is fine, as long is they do not record restricted areas, llike bathrooms or changing areas.
Privacy laws vary by state, so you should do a search on "employee right to privacy + State) and see what the laws are specific to where you work. |

if your the store owner or building owner and they are your workers im sure its legal just as long as its not in a bathroom cause theres hidden cams everywhere at work places and im sure the employees dont know about them |

Sorry, employees must be aware of all cameras placed in the establishment, even in clocks. It is illegal from what I know. |
