Wouldn't Human Resources throw a fit about this?
If I had submitted my PTO Request and it was approved by my manager, can that manager then attempt to harass me into not using my PTO for whatever reason she states ( true or not ).
It was requested quite a while ago (over a month) and I have already spent a lot of non-refundable money on this trip.

If it is approved, why are you being pressured not to go?
Is it possible to speak to your manager's boss? Or someone in human resources or benefits area? |

What kind of hell hole do you work at? I haven't a decent boss not let me take my PTO days, HOWEVER if there was a busy time of the year and there is an understanding that you really should be at work these days - then I think the boss can say something. I knew there are sometimes "set dates" - lets say your a Bond Banker (like me) and December 1 is the biggest payment date, you should know NOT to take those days off. |

Situations change. If someone quit and they need you, then they are certainly able to ask. Of course you can say that you have already spent money and can't cancel your plans.
Not sure why you think that legal issues need to come into it. Everyone wants to sue. |
