I was sent on an overseas assignment and was never given the tools for the job. When asked, all of management ignored me. I eventually went to a hotline to seek assistance which management only just found out about.
Possibly through embarrassment, I have been terminated and to return to home base for a meeting. I had over extended myself personally to perform well and even got a good performance review.
Their termination occurred without anything in writing or any sustainable reason.
I have no support. Lawyers in my base country are usually afraid of this wealthy global giant. Will it be legal to record the meeting?

You can legally record the meeting, but in order for it to be legal certain conditions MUST be met.
1) The recorder must be sitting out where it can be seen at all times.
2) Every person at the meeting must approve of you making the recording. This approval must be on record as part of the recording.
3) If one person says "no" then you say "My recording of this meeting was not approved by (insert name here) so I am now powering off the recorder and removing all power sources so there is no question about me illegally recording the meeting." ...and then don't record anything further. If they question the recorder still running, remove all power sources to the recorder and have them sitting out on the table next to the recorder. |
