I work at a restaurant and recently my boss informed me that all employees with stones in their rings would have to take the rings off. My wedding bands are sacred to me and I'm wondering if I can fight this.

look at it this way:
if the rings are that important to you, do you want to ruin them working in a restaurant?
if the employer has a policy that is health or safety based it is very legal and expected. this is why a wedding ban is fine it is just anything that has stones which could be lost. |

If it is determined to be a health or safety reason, they can.
If you are dealing with food, it could be health related. |

You can't really fight it unless you come up with a third option: tape over the ring or wear a "finger glove" on that finger. A reasonable boss would allow this. |
