A week ago I was accused of stealing a co-workers phone. However, through all investigation, management decided there was not enough evidence to prove me guilty of anything. The owner of the phone, which actually found her phone, still believed that I stole it and eventually told everyone else it was me, even though nothing was proved. I was talked to again by management about something else regarding a different accusation, and they also brought up the phone incident again, even though the case was considered closed. This new accusation was made by the same employee who thought I stole her phone, but I was not told of what it was, and I was asked to leave early until further notice. I do not feel this is right at all.

The problem has been solved. I was transfered to a different store due to coworker issues. I did not get in trouble and the other employee got talked to for slander. Thanks for the support :)

No it is not right. You should take your situation to someone higher up on the chain, best option the owner! They cannot suspend you from work without pay on the assumption of a co-worker! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Even in Court you're considered innocent until proven guilty! Wow, I feel for you, that is wildly unfair. I would raise hell until you get your voice heard. Don't let co-workers, bosses or anyone else push you around for that matter. If it get's to the point where they threaten to fire you, get an attorney. If your case is as unfair as you say it is, you won't have a problem winning your case and paying him his share. They need to tell you why you are being suspended (the new accusation). Call your manager and tell them you need to know what is going on because it is affecting your income and life. |
