No. Being discriminate and discrimination are not the same thing. In fact, from a legal standpoint, promotion from within is a much safer route than open solicitation.

It is the combined responsibility of all employees to demonstrate their ability to hire, train and promote in support of the corporate mission statement. If the current staff does not already have a small pool of obvious candidates, a cattle call to people they see everyday is not likely to maximize this opportunity for improvement. Any organization is only as strong as its weakest member and your "anchor man" may not stand out either.

Perhaps you should offer to sit on an "ad hoc" committee to consider how this multi-level situation came to be. Good Luck.

No. That is not a law. Some companies do, but employment law does not dictate it.

yes, so that they can have lots of applicants thru this they can look for a good employee too by comparing each applicant by way of experienced and some other good question and answer to them
