Nope not unlawful at all not to hire him. They can hire whoever they want to, as long as the reason is not legally discriminatory - tattoos are not a basis for claiming legal discrimination. |

No it is not unlawful since it will probably go against dress codes you have in place..right? But you will need to offer a way around the dress codes..like he would need to cover them up with gauze or bandages, most people will not go for this and will give up. Good luck! |

How would that be a form of illegal discrimination? You can choose to not hire someone because of their appearance except if they are elderly, a color you don't like, or obese. If you put tattoos on very visible portions of your body then there will be jobs you won't be considered for. I have friends with many tattoos. My wife and I have a tattoo. Arms, legs, torsos, backs are okay to most people-assuming they are tasteful. Hands, faces and necks are generally gonna count against you in many interviews. |

I think yes and no. It might have to do with the dressing code, but it may also be interpreted as freedom of speech, which is protected under the Second Amendment of our beloved constitution. |
