i went 2 a club last nite and showed them my id and not only did the bouncers not let me in but they took it andwouldn'y give it back. can they do this!?

Not just their right, but ABC law dictates its their RESPONSIBILITY to withhold it.

Yes, they have the right to confiscate fake id's. Just like in retail the clerks are required to take away fake credit cards, or cards that are reported stolen if someone is trying to use it.
